Have you ever kept your un-realized childhood dream and now it’s about to get back those dreams? I had some : carrying trophies generally and being a ballet dancer specifically.
It’s been so long since I carried trophies. It was when calling my mom and finding out that my trophies and medals was carried about more than 10 years ago during my high school time.
I never missed to participate in English Quiz(Cepat Tepat),Reading every year by Best English Course in Medan, Pekan Olahraga Sutomo, it’s a yearly Sports event organized by my high school Sutomo1, also the yearly Ballet examination by Royal Academy of Dancing, London.
Yup, basically I think I have the body-kinestetic intelligence.
I remember how those times I hardly spent days at home, going to school, extracurricular activities, and attending some courses. And the sport time also 5 times in a week. I love aerobic, jogging, swimming, ballet. And my daddy was that time worried of me and also sent me to Taekwondo. LOL
But from the list above, the achievements I got are medals in aerobic, swimming and trophies in ballet.
I was so much in love in ballet, well I didn’t have early ballet class, starting from Elementary 6 until 1st year of college. After graduating from high school, daddy asked me to quit ballet. According to daddy, it’s costly and seems like never ending course. I was really upset that time, that I cried.
Well, I started to work as Conversational English teacher for kids after graduating high school while continuing my college. Maybe it sounds ok for western people, but not so, in my hometown especially.
The money I got, surely not enough for me to continue the ballet lesson.
Then I went to Jakarta for university. It ever crossed my mind to participate in ballet class, I’ve ever went to Marlupi in Tanjung Duren, Jakarta for the class. But it’s all about money again. Better forget about it, that’s what I thought.
And now in Tokyo, that dream came again. I was tickled to have ballet lesson, but hey..
age keep counting up, I’m not that young anymore. Anyway, I searched for the ballet class and stumbled to Austrian Ballet Company. I contacted the staff telling that I had experiences in ballet until Grade 7, I was then suggested to join the adult class.
It’s the Monday @8.30PM class, I was really excited, it’s been ages. I was bringing my pointe shoes to the class, since that’s the only ballet shoes I brought from Indonesia.
In the fitting room, there’re kids and also 2 adults for the class. The German girl , likely in the same age with me and another one looks like in her 30’s.
Whew, my first ballet class by a Japanese teacher. he he.. I still can do the splits, kissing the knees-Swing arms downward in front of body and finish reaching high on the other side. But during the lesson, I found out I lost my postures.. zannennn..
Not only it’s been ages, but also due to the practice of Bali Dance. The postures were totally opposite : ballet postures engaging thigh muscles, straighten knees, putting in the muscles of tummy, a really straight body position. In Bali dance, it’s like pushing the butt back. And also the pointe shoes quite hurt.
OMG.. After the class, I was thinking if I’m able to pursuing back my dream of becoming ballerina? LOL.
Maybe I’ve changed the mindset, despite of becoming ballerina, I’ll do it because I like it, no matter how bad my current postures. Can’t wait for the next class.
These two are my passions..
