I today create new category in my blog : IndonesiaQu (meaning : My Indonesia), my objective is simply for sharing to all of you who read my blog, or ones who eager to know more abt Indonesia and hit my blog unintentionally .🙂
I just found out Sumatera island is the 6th largest island in the world from wikipedia. Sumatera itself has several regions:
f. North Sumatera (Sumatera Utara)
g. Riau province
h. South Sumatera (Sumatera Selatan)
i. West Sumatera (Sumatera Barat)
As I was born in North Sumatera, let me write abt North Sumatera in this post:)
When it comes saying North Sumatera, ppl will more likely know Medan! Yes, i mean it! Medan is the capital of North Sumatera.
The most travelling destinations I used to recommend to my guests comes to the two trademarks below + culinary trip in Medan :
b. Lakes Toba
c. Culinary Travelling in Medan (Jl. Selat Panjang, Jl. Semarang, Kesawan Square, Merdeka Walk and so many other new places)🙂
Brastagi is my favourite recreation spot located in the Karo highland, 66 km southwest away from medan. The town is so like heaven to me for its cold breeze air while it’s around 4,500 feet from sea level and was surrounded by the mountains line, Mt Sibayak and Mt Sinabung volcanoes which can be seen from Gundaling Hill. Then for sure, this will be the choice after the fatique weekday with the hot climate in Medan
Brastagi is known for the plantation, and various kind of flowers, vegetables and fruits which the famous is Markisa passion fruit. So no doubt, I never miss shopping the bonnie fresh carrot, markisa when I’m here.
There’s a yearly carnival, like “Pesta Bunga dan Fruit” (“Flower and Fruit Party“), “Pesta Mejuah-juah”.
Umm.. pls dont forget visit Lau Debuk Debuk, located on the side of Sibayak mountain peak.
It’s a hot water spring! This hot water springs flowed with the temperature of 35 celsius emerged through the lava cracks in the volcano slope that afterwards was accommodated in the bathing place ponds. If you have skin disease, like scurvy, pimples.. then this sulfuric water will work for you. My grandpa used to bring along one bottle of the sulfuric water back to Medan. hehe..
Apart from Lau Debuk Debuk, there’s also other spot to visit : Sipiso-piso fall, located about 24 km to Danau Toba. The view here is fantastic, its height abt 360 ft before flowing to Danau Toba. When I was graduated, a whole class visited here for the tracking activities. A sweet memorable place here when my crush did gentle thingy and flowered my life!😛
.. To be continued
*The pictures are taken from different websites, since my original photo were not with me, in my hometown Medan🙂, so can’t manage to scan.😦 Anyway, the pictures are not for commercial rite? it’s just for sharing to others*
