After several time ago applying for internet banking service, I finally received the card containing the keiyaku mono bangou(contract no). This number is treated as username when accessing the internet banking url.
It’s common that banks gain profit by the fee based service, but I determined several interesting facts about the services in Japan.
In Indonesia, banks have been creating such tight competition by offering gifts for new accounts, high interest rate, lucky draw, providing the best and complete transactional services for their ATMs, internet banking service and mobile service that concerning for 24 hours availability. These wide range of services are becoming the added point values to maintain customers.
But, the different things happen here, there’s no interest for the savings. And for the services like ATMs, they’re not operated 24 hours, um… let say like using the ATM after 8PM or in the weekend, customers will be charged.
The other service: internet banking.. Customer will be charged for the fund transfer service by the range of certain transfer amounts, even for the same bank.. haha..
eg. The charge for >20,000Yen will be XXyen; >40,000yen will be XY yen..
Just now I tried to access it again, but oops..
システムメンテナンス時間 : 毎週：日曜日21時～翌月曜日7時
-> it’s system maintenance time, every week : Sunday @9PM, and 7PM on the day of the week of next month..
Wow, the EOW and EOM operation, heh? But why started at such early time?
Hello, it’s still 9 and 7.. but I’m strongly belief that those services surely differ regarding to the pre market research survey, the local customer behaviour, etc etc.. ^^
Anyway, still can see the good points, customers are informed for the fixed maintenance period.
I wonder if the internet banking service in Indonesia let the customer know the fixed time for their system maintenance? If the answer is “Yes”, then I might be wrong, or missed this piece of information. hehe..
