It’s been almost a week since my last post.. Just busy with these and those..
So let me ask you guys.. How do you guys define an effective worth-it weekend? 🙂
In here, I’m just trying to make friends with others without judging on sex, nationality, religious views, and so on, though sometimes I still can’t reach their way of thinking(while I’m still learning up to now)
And since I moved to the new dorm, the atmosphere here really supportive, yup a really international ones.. Let me tell you, every single storey here approximately has 20 rooms, and the percentage of Japanese vs International students is about 15% : 85%, which means only 3 persons of Japanese Residence Assistants (RA-s).
The foreign students themselves come from various countries , and it’s just amazing when we ticked the map to denote our country, wondering how far the distance to travel to Japan for them(and for me, too ;P). The residents come from such as Rusia, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Pakistan, Thailand, France, Korea,China, Myanmar, etc..
As there are 4 buildings (A bldg for singles-with no kitchen inside the room, B bldg equipped with kitchen and washing machine, C bldg for couples and D bldg for families), a lot of parties/gatherings are either regularly or occasionally held.
And as we share the public kitchen in A bldg, despite of the inconvenience to take all the stuffs and can turn out annoying when sth is forgotten which require going and coming back to room and kitchen, the frequency of meeting and communicating with others are quite high. So those troublesome facts turn out to be good point : it’s just nice to know others, peek what they cook, know their custom like
– The way the Indian style food use hands grabbing the food she called “acar” and shared with us (kinda shock at the first time)..
– The way how the Hindu Pakistan act like Moslem when it comes to the Halal Food, a really cautious one.
– To see how the Uzbekistan guy cook very well esp in pilaf..
It’s just part of it..
And last Sunday, another floor girl from France that I knew in the party, inviting me to her floor traditional private party. It’s their custom every Sunday to present a traditional breakfast and share with the same floor residents. (but I preferred to say it’s brunch because it started at 11.30, haha..)
Guess what she presented? The very good bread from *french patisserie in Tokyo, as she promoted ;P
And also the cheese that can’t be found anywhere in supermarket in Tokyo, originally brought from France. *wink wink*
1) Comte (the hard texture)
2) Roquefort (strong one with green mushrooms)
3) Brie (white strong smell one)
Each kind of the cheese has been fermented in different ways.
It’s just funny to see how the Japanese felt awful to the taste of the cheese.
Maybe it’s just like the foreigners who hate nato(fermented soybean). ;P
The silly to serious conversation, the silly acts and much more.. And this is the pumpkin cake made by the Korean girl, she’s very good in baking I think. 🙂
Yeah, it’s kinda fun, but the day before, on Saturday, waking up, going to gym, taking quickie bath rushing meeting friend for festival purpose, practising Angklung, having some lessons, and then going back to the dorm( it’s already 9), then joining the Martial Art organized by the Karate Club in the dorm (don’t laugh me for this! :P). Whew, it’s very tiring, hontou kitsui wa yooo
And I couldn’t sleep, maybe I should admit I’m getting old.. ha ha.. While I was teenager, I did the sports 5/6 times in a week and usually ended up w/ tight sleep.. but now? I could hardly sleep, I slept only 2 hours. 😦
Yeah, the weekend flow so fast and it came to Monday with the same routiness…
Arghhh can’t wait until the natsu yasumi-summer holiday comes..
* If you’re trying to taste the best french patisserie in Tokyo (quoted from my friend), it is Maison Kayser located in shirokane takanawa eki (line mita or line namboku); take exit A2 or 2; out from the exit you have to take the street on your right , and walk like 50metres or more maybe; it is on the opposite side of the street. (there is a foot bridge above the street). It’s on the 1st floor, can even see it from exit.
Have a tiring nice weekend!
seru juga ya… 🙂
have a nice weekend juga!
Weekend should be time to rest n sosialize!! 😀
But unfortunately, it usually, well mostly, end up with study, huh!!!! gak terimaaaa..
hoho asik ya partynya.. klu di sini yg namanya party pasti buntut2nya nge-beers, nge-wine, n ajep2.. hueee..
and.. yeaahh can’t wait until the summer holiday.. !! wohooo.. 2 weeks from now, huraay!!
once you move out from a room called “class” and enter a room called “office”, weekend is not time to hava party, but to tidy your room or app or house or what ever it is 🙂
so my advice: enjoy your live as student 🙂
Wah angklung berarti rame2 ya… Aku pernah soalnya ikut main pas lagi acara keluarga sama cucu-cucu lain yg kalau dijumlah sekitar 30 orangan.

i can see that your weekend was worth-it, right? effective-worth-it weekends can happen in various ways… be it a full 48-hours romantic get-away somewhere far…. a non-stop conversation with best friends + good food….. or sleeping for 10 hours + just being lazy watching movies at home…..
anything goes!
