.. Finally decided ending the long hibernation f(^^

For the last 2 years, I’d been sending nengyajo – postcard for friends in Japan and outside Japan. I prepared buying, hand writing like somewhere in November, but this year I haven’t even bought single postcard, I am afraid I spent time buying lil presents for friends, baking and attended some company and pre-christmas events.
As it seems like i’m not able to keep my two consecutive years tradition sending the postcard this year, I’d like to wish you my warmest advanced warm Merry Christmas and Happy New Year greeting. Wish you many many more for the upcoming 2011. I know it’ll be exciting for all of us.. 🙂

We had a Terry Fox running,  it’s a Running for Hope volunteer-led event which the raised fund goes to the cancer research. I personally view it’s a run family or friend time for good cause. Not only for health reason, but also for charity. 😉
The participation fee is the donation of at least 3,000 yen with the targeted participants as many as 1,000 people. This is an annual event held by the support of Canadian embassy and Four Season Hotel. And the running itself takes place in Imperial Palace, giving the option of 5km or 10km run. Not all the employees ran. almost half enjoyed good walk, the other half participated the 5km run, and a few completed the 10 km run. Unfortunately I only managed to run a 5km course, stamina’s dropped due to no endurance training since winter.

Start line for 10km run

At the end of the run, each participant was given a bag of banana, apple, ham bread sausage, energy drink. They also provided salmon snack and yaki onigiri – grilled rice ball for free.

Energy Drinks & Mineral Water

The interesting parts are also that they gave out the participation certificate with the name of participant on it. And also there’s lucky draw, we’ve got piles of numbers.. And guess what I got? I got 3 coupons and I got 2 prizes out of those three. It’s a cute winter cap and also a Dr Ci LaBo BB Perfect Light Cream which costs like 4,200 yen. Lucky! The first prize is Four Season Hotel stay.

The other company event is the annual year-end event, a Christmas dining which requires us to dress up to the theme decided. This is my first year experience, and the theme was dream job. I’m wondering what I should wear, the simple one which needs no money is to dress up as Balinese dancer as I already have the whole set costume, but it’s winter and I don’t think it’s a good idea to dress up having the full course dining with the summer-like costume. LOL. The other thing that I could think of is ballerina, but I don’t want it to become like an adorable wow beautiful ballerina that I could get compliments during the party. I wanted something different, so kept on browsing the online shops until
stuck on one interesting costume. I requested Arman for help if he could order and send it to Japan since the shops I stumbled that time provided no delivery to Japan. The unfortunate thing is also that it’s so closed to the Halloween when almost all the costumes were sold out. Finally I got one from Amazon UK, it costs me like 2K yen+ but the delivery cost is like 4k yen+, phew! f(^^
And are you ready to see how I looked like in the party? The most embarrasing costume among the ladies.

I’ve been neglecting my blog for so longgg.. >.<
“There will be ups and downs, but it is important to remember you’re on your own beautiful journey, and once you’re on it you have to see it through to it’s own conclusion. And try to never be afraid to do anything because what’s the worse that can happen?” (Jonathan R Meyers)

So many things happened, ups and downs but had no archive in the digital diary.. too bad!

Yosh, am trying to refresh my memory and notes on what I’ve gone thru in recent months. If only in the future I just hop back to my archives, reading my posts, I believe those days turn out to be so priceless.. the milestones as a part of Willy’s momental life in Japan..
Let’s begin!

I found so many drafts written in March..
Tata had asked me if I’m doing okay or not since I didn’t update my blog for ages. 😛
Thanks for your concern, sweet gal.. I still survive, unfortunately.. LOL.

Long story short, these are updates I managed to summarize…
– Yeay, I got A straight for all subjects in last semester (again)
– I plan to submit paper, hope can do it. It’ll be my first paper, once if it’s accepted, I’ll go to Spain. 🙂
-> Dun wanna put so much hope on it, at least I’ve tried my best.
– Job hunting still going on. I managed to pass the interview but then failed. Quite worried as the peak season for job hunting is April, and job offer will be given by the end of April. Two friends of mine already got the job offer, and some of them lose faith..
A lot managed to go to the final interview and then failed ’em, so we just need to start from the scratch, filling pre-entry form, entry form to show our interest to the companies, web tests, sets of interviews.. I’m physically tired both physically and mentally, but I believe once we get the job, and look back to the milestones, it’ll be very precious experience.
– Birthday with few friends, feel pleased knowing that everyone in Japan celebrate my birth day. 😛
The floor mates also gave me surprise, leading me the way to the kitchen, the lamp’s switched off and there came the birthday cake, and the birthday song by everybody.
Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday wishes.

– Miss my lil friend, Wina.. She left Japan after 4 years working here. But happy for her, she now got the job in Singapore.

– Tunisian party, so it’s the part of the culture introduction and ended with Tunisian food. yummy..
Tunisian food

Hanami– view the flowers in the spring with group of friends. This was really good, but bit dizzy with the crowd. But the sakura this year was not so pretty compared to last year.

The crowd for buying the pass to Shinjuku Gyoen ( Shinjuku Park ), typical on the bottom of sakura tree as the best spot, bringing food and drinks.

p1070846This is how people enjoy the hanami

p1070899Mountain of garbage, whew..

May is about to come, let’s do the best for the research and job hunting.

Just wanna share theYosakoi dance that we performed in the summer Festival. Besides the single country performance group which is particularly intended to present and introduce about the specific culture, this group consists of multi countries members : Korea, Japan, France, China, Philippine, Indonesia.

The costume we wear is called Happi, instead of Yukata

This piece is tone of our “evening” session practice video shot in order to observe of how neat we did for the formation (video credit : Yuki)
So, what impression do you have of this dance? ^^

Bet everyone here must have experienced both telling lies and becoming victim of the liar.
.. Lies which intended to us, that later lead an enormous hatred (forgiven but not forgotten)

There’s a lot of type of lies : bluffing, white lies, urgency lies, promotion lies, and so on.. I hate knowing that I was the victim of the liar, and assume everyone does the same way.
I know deception can sometimes have something to do with protecting someone’s feeling, telling lies for the sake of someone’s else..

But the questions then go like these :
– How can we tolerate the lie that can harm others?
– How if you are the liar? what level of tolerance you can go thru? As it’s so natural to defense and protect yourself, and blaming others.

I remember one of the related phrases in one of Taiwan Drama starred by Barbie Hsu and Alan Luo : Corner with Love, more or less like “Once you tell a lies, there’ll be another lies to hide the previous lies”

I myself prefer to tell the truth as the earliest as possible, regardless of how hurtful it’ll be, but later this way of thinking that i have believed since long time ago starts fading away. I’m thinking of no matter how i become the victim of the liars, as long as I still feel pleased, that’ll be okay. (notes, that I’ll never know the truth until the end of my life).

Argh.. People do change..
Life, human is full of mystery, is there any scientific research on this? *wondering*
Anyway, it’s real life, life can be either sweet or cruel to you depends on how you correspond on it.
Let’s face it, not with childish way, be GENTLE, BIG HEARTED to APOLOGIZE!
*Boring rambling after the devil vs angel war inside*

Joy and Sorrow Chapter VIII
Then a woman said, ‘Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow.’
And he answered: “Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.”
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
And how else can it be?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that hold your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
Some of you say, ‘Joy is greater than sorrow,’ and others say, ‘Nay, sorrow is the greater.’
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.
Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.
Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.
When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

It’s the been the nature of human being to experience these both joy and sorrow, particularly there will be joy welcoming a new baby born, the marriage occasion, success in career or study whilst regretting for the failure, sorrow in losing family members and so on . Yup, all ups and downs keep goin thru the life from growing up, being matured, getting married, being sick, die.. But I do believe those mingle of sorrow and happiness has a deep impact on developing an unique individual into the long run.

Last week I heard these both joy and sorrow from my friends.
It was when I received an email from friend of mine, we used to work together under the organization in university. She sent me an email that one of our friend, Deny is dying due to the illness.
Flashing back couple months ago in the very first email that he was diagnosed for :thalasemia. Friends’re collecting money to aid the medical treatment fees. After the surgery, I was thinking he’s getting better, but the last week email indicated that another disease was diagnosed, he’s reached the 4th stadium of the lever, and as for the thalasemia has been minority. Now he needs about 50 mios Rupiah / mo or abt 5,500 USD or abt 550,000Yen.

Well.. beside the money he and his family need for the treatment fee, he for sure need the support from his friends and surrounding. Coz he felt like no hope to live longer..
So I thought of sending him card to cheer him up, yesterday I bought a card, requesting some of my International friends to write him some messages, I managed to have the postcard with the languages : Japanese, Urdu, Russian, English, Chinese.
Deny, faito! You’re precious to your friends and family!

Actually today supposed to be the Tanabata Festivalday in Japan, but since it’s on Monday, most of people celebrated it on Saturday or Sunday. The angklung group I’m joining with, performed in the Tanabata Festival in Bunkyo-ku. There’s a custom writing wishes and hang the wish paper in the trees. The same thing when I attended the planetarium lectures in the dormitory, it’s a gorgeous lecture and beautiful planetarium it presents. But this event, also include the tanabata custom. So I did write wishes again. Well, my wishes are quite the same related to the success of my study& research, and the peace of the world.
But one of my friend who’s broadcaster in NHK, saying that there’s a bomb incident in Pakistan that killed 15 people. Deep condolence. 😦

And the last one, on Saturday, July 5 was the marriage party of my very best friend in high school. We’re taking our own path after graduation. I went to Jakarta for study, she went to Germany for the higher education. She then found her half part there, Medan Indonesian guy as well, and they celebrated the party in Bali.
Sorry for the cancellation of my attendance, due to the lectures and also the summer seminar by my sponsorship.

Congratulation to you my very best girl friend, Yus and Budi!
Wish both of you the happiness of couple’s life : growing old together, supporting each other in both joy and sorrow.
