Helloooo… I’m safely home, here I am in Indonesia, with limited internet access.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wish you all the best for the year ahead.
Going back home was just like my friends’ will be missing me as it’s farewell party, haha.
One day before departure, I prepared gado2 and ate together with Indonesia-ers in canteen. We really dun care about the surrounding seeing us as hen na gaijin?(weird foreigner) perhaps? As we brought along lots of bento boxes and stirred the bumbu pecel there. 😛 They must be wondering what special winter menu we had that afternoon. LOL. Then, in the evening, the time when I still busy finding the gift ordered, I got a lot of phone calls blessing me flight safe home. Thanks buddies. *wink*
I’m always confused to find the gift, considering it’s free trade era : What sold in Japan also sold in Indonesia. Anyway, I tried to make fast shopping and soon coming home for my baggage rehearsal. As always, trial and error for baggage stuffs. I do hate packing. hahaha..
Before going back to dormitory, I tried to find out where the bus stop that I’ll be riding from the station to the airport on the departure day was precisely located (it’s not like in Indonesia, I can’t achieve riding taxi here to airport, hahaha..).
Then I also checked the bus schedule from my dormitory to the station.
As I took the 6.30 bus from station and the bus schedule to the station itself was 6.15..
Fifteen minutes bus ride to the station is completely too risky. That’s why I planned reserving the taxi to the station. But guess what? I couldn’t reserve taxi, it’s really not as convenient like in Indonesia : call and reserve. Fiuh, that’s why I left 5.30 from dormitory, and walked to find the taxi. Finally it’s true what Arya told about taxi price also increase. The fee started at 710Yen. (almost 60,000 Rupiah) from 600sth yen, whew..
I arrived at station 5.50, 40 minutes earlier.. whew… so cold and sleepy -_-;
Because it’s such crowded in the bus, I felt so fortunate buying the bus ticket 5 days before . It doesn’t make sense if there’s no seat and I had to ride taxi for the airport. huhuhu..
Arriving airport about 8.30sth, the check-in counter itself opened at 9.00. I was considering it’s too early as the departure time is 11.00, but the fact is that it’s been a long queue even the check-in counter not yet opened. So many Japanese were in the queue as well, mostly bring along surfing equipments with them.
After my turn, it really shocked me that my small baggage was not allowed to be hand-carry, because I already had 3 hand-carry items(backpack, one handbag and the small baggage).
I was told to give up the small baggage as the hand-carry item. So when those two baggage’re weighted, it’s overweight! My limit is up to 20kgs, and those two weighted 33kg. Fiuhhh..
After the check-in was done, I called a friend of mine that had the same departure date with me. We talked some time and the time was flying pretty fast until it’s time for boarding.
Whew, the procedures in Japan airport is strict.
After the check-in, the next procedure is the security check.
It’s about showing the boarding pass, the baggage inspection to the scanner conveyor belt and the body checks for security reasons.
The liquid over 100ml can’t be hand-carried. (Maybe it become the general rule for several countries as well), we have to take off the jacket, the notebook should be taken out from the backpack. I can only say it’s inconvenient if we take so many hand-carry items.
Next step is to customs counter (if only you bring more than 1 mios Yen), otherwise, proceed to the passport control : preparing the embarkation card and having the passport stamped. After this procedure, we can freely access to the free duty shop. (but I had no sufficient time for window shopping), then I ride the shuttle to the boarding gate, finding the boarding gate and then boarding.
It’s not a nice flight. First, due to it’s daytime and it’s suffering having awake in the plane for about 7hours trip. Second, the steward’s service was not good, really felt the difference with how the Japanese treat the customers.
Finally I arrived at Bali, I took few photos from the plane. It’s beautiful Bali.
About 1 hour before flying to Jakarta, I just saw thru outside, wishing if I can have some walk to the beach, huehuehue.. Anyway, I only managed walking around the souvenir shop, wanted to buy some souvenirs but I only had 50,000Rupiah and couldn’t manage to buy the T-Shirts. Poor me!
The flight to Jakarta was served better by the stewardess. My next trip after arriving Jakarta was Medan. Yup, so I had so many culinary trips in Medan. Never miss even a day with seafood
(crabs, prawns, fish). How can I lose my weight? haha.. And I also getting bored the greeting I received everytime I met was : Hey, you’re putting on weight!
Home sweet home, eventhough it’s not as tidy, convenient, and safe as compared to Japan. Home is always the best.
